07/27: Fun with Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros

FRIENDS.

Wanted to share this poster I just finished for the lovely band Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros.

I met the magical gang a couple of years ago in the gorgeous desert of Marfa, Texas where they arrived on a massive bus straight from Los Angeles to play for the people. Sharpe and friends were the fun token band for the Marfa Film Festival playing a slew of shows that had such a warm nostalgic gospel feel to it-I was blown away. The sweet balance of the band and audience having the time of their lives is a hard vibe to come by and these guys pulled it off with genuinely awesome and kind clamor. They filled many smiles that weekend in the land of cactus flowers and now it's time to check them out on tour this month! New Yorkers can see 'em August 7th @ Mercury Lounge and DO seek out their debut album Up From Below. The cover rules to boot and was designed by R + F bud Peter Klein who shot this killer film of the band noodling around the Marfa terrain...(see below)

07/15: Viva Turquoise Wisdom

FRIENDS.

Stoked to announce the first installment of R + F contributor Turquoise Wisdom's new show on Viva Radio!

One of the best musical horizon wizards out there, there is nothing like a selection of tunes by this dude, who we raise our coffee cups to for delivering the importance to the masses. Plus it's got Fleetwood Mac's Purple Dancer on there and you know how we feel about THAT. You can boogarize out to the jams spun live as TW will be the resident DJ on upcoming US dates with the great Fleet Foxes this summer.

Check out the fine episode here.

07/06: 6th Avenue Horses and Heartaches

hey FRIENDS.

Wanted to share this new tee shirt print I illustrated for The Wallflowers who are touring this summer with their new greatest hits collection....catchy! Fittingly enough Jakob's dad, Mr. Bob Dylan is featured as one of the tees in our Spring/Summer collection in an ode to the heavy jam "All the Tired Horses" that still makes me wimper a little if enough whiskey and thoughts are filling the heart.
